Canson Infinity BFK Rives

19th January 2009 | Papers

This is a beautiful paper. Canson claim a 500 year history for Rives BFK as a traditional printmaking and drawing paper. This mould-made, 100% cotton, 310gsm paper has a vellum texture and a warmth that adds class to images that will benefit from its subtle but distinctive character. (Where more neutrality is required Arches Velin Museum Rag is probably preferable.)

BFK Rives delivers a large gamut with Ultrachrome HDR inks and good contrast. For B&W however the results are really special with the blacks taking on a deep, charcoal colour. The totality invites an emotional response to the subject. The paper is well suited to larger prints and displays excellently.
