Vikky’s second show at the Queensland Centre of Photography opens at 5pm on Saturday 5th May and continues until 3rd June.

“The oft-quoted ‘children can be so cruel’ is beautifully illustrated in the concept of the Chinese Burn, a seemingly innocent game kids have played for generations. In addition to the issue of ideologically unsound language, there is something inherently nasty in what is put forth as a simple little twist but in reality finds it origin in torture. It is said that these activities develop important life skills in both the perpetrator and the victim, it just may be several years before benefit may be gained in learning to navigate one’s group of peers become apparent.”
