Barb Smith

Begun in 1991 and with images taken up until this year, Fyshwick presents a different view of Canberra’s industrial precinct.

“Most people just rush to Fyshwick to shop. But the best time to see this suburb is early in the morning or late afternoon, when there are no people and no cars, and the slanting sunlight transforms apparently mundane buildings into vibrantly glowing castles of commerce.”

Showing alongside Barb’s work is that of AndrĂ©e Lawrey. Fyshwick can be seen at the Huw Davies Gallery, Manuka Arts Centre until 31st July.

The paper selected was Canson Infinity Rag Photographique.
