Macquarie Editions firmly believes it has a responsibility to act ethically and with a minimum impact on the environment.

  • The papers used are predominately cotton (rag) based, a natural fibre with an attendant production footprint. Papers based on sustainable/waste products – such as Hahnemühle Bamboo (90% bamboo, 10% cotton), Hahnemühle Sugar Cane (75% bagasse, 25% cotton) and a selection of Washi papers – are available.
  • The packaging (boxes) for papers is generally reused e.g. for mailing finished prints.
  • Any waste paper (from imperfect prints, offcuts) is recycled using council facilities.
  • The inks used are aqueous pigmented. MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheets) for the individual colours are available here (select Large Format Printers and Stylus Pro 9900 – 44″).
  • All used ink cartridges are recycled with Close the Loop.
  • Macquarie Editions operates as a home-based business. The heritage-listed house has a solar system installed and, as a whole, is a net exporter of electricity over the year.
